Why You Power Trippin?

My message to you lovely ladies today is this: be careful on your quest towards becoming skilled manipulators.

I understand that in today's climate, the talk of subversive power is controversial yet exciting to contemplate.

We don't know what's going on behind the scenes of those who practice misdirection and the selling of their snake oil.

We don't know if they enjoy safety, stability, or contentment within their lives.

Power is like a religion now.

It comes with its own set of commandments, holy sites, holidays and superstitious theories to support its existence.

We prop up and praise figures like Machiavelli, but if we dig below the surface, we'll find that Machiavelli himself wasn't so Machiavellian!

He was a 16th century philosopher and Italian politician suspected of conspiring against the Medici rulers after they were restored to power, and subsequently exiled and tortured for a year.

Upon his release, he settled on a farm with his wife and 6 children where he wrote The Prince, which famously argues that the ends—no matter how immoral—justify the means for preserving political authority.

He turned out to be what's called a principled political moralist rather than a cunning, sinister strategist who glorified power, and there's speculation that his books were meant as satire instead of treatise on how to obtain political power.

Can I be so forward in saying that I don't think you want power: you want Freedom!

You want the freedom to say what you want to say and do what you want to do and be who you want to be.

And that, my lovelies, is created through a change in attitude!

Freedom is attitudinal!

The question is not how you gain power.

The question is this: how do you lose power?

And you lose power through being distracted, through always chasing entertainment and consumption over self-determination and purpose.

To get to the realm of autonomy doesn't require labor, it just requires focus.

Most things are hard to do because we are lacking focus, not capability.

This world is a stage, and those who claim to have power only have it because you believe they do..
